Lamacraft Farm Cottages are situated just half a mile from Hallsands, Start Bay. Being uniquely positioned on the  beautiful Start Point Peninsular approximately 8 miles south of Dartmouth and 5 miles East of Salcomble (as the crow flies). Lamacraft Farm Cottages are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and in an elevated position between the coast and country.

The Cottages are situated on a non-working farm, at the top of a beautiful, tranquil valley near Hallsands, a small fishing village in the South Hams area of Devon. Approached along hilly, winding roads amongst rolling countryside and meadows, these cottages are perfect for friends and families escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life and exploring Devon’s South Coast. There is plenty of space in extensive grounds and woodlands for ball throwing and dog walks with your four legged friend.

Each of the cottages offer comfortable sleeping arrangements and modern shower rooms.They offer a well-equipped kitchen where you can enjoy delicious home-cooked meals, and plan the holiday’s adventures! After a day spent exploring this glorious area, relax and unwind in the cosy sitting room, each boasting a warming woodburning stove. Each cottage has a rear, enclosed gated seating area, little sun traps benefitting from the morning and early afternoon sun where you can sit and gaze at the views, and on warm summer afternoons, enjoy a barbecue. A further area above the cottages has seeting where you can catch the late afternoon and evening sun and watch the sun setting on the horizon. Also there are woodland walks around the grounds and sea views across Start Bay.

The cottages have immediate access to a footpath that leads to Hallsands beach and onwards onto the South West Coast footpath, the beautiful shingle beach of North Hallsands and the National Trust clifftops. A dream for walking enthusiasts, the South West Coast Path can be accessed within a short fifteen minute walk. Continue on to Start Point and Start Point Lighthouse, and venture to the dog-friendly, sandy beaches of Mattiscombe and Lannacombe, both just two miles away, or take a trip to Torcross and Slapton in the opposite direction.

The neighbouring villages of Beesands and East Prawle have their own village pub, The Cricket Inn and the Pigs Nose. The cottages are equidistant to the popular yachting towns of Salcombe (via passenger ferry at East Portlemouth) and Dartmouth, and Kingsbridge is a short drive away. Further afield the South Hams boasts a host of popular coastal towns waiting to be discovered. The picturesque beaches of Bantham is very popular with Surfers  and Bigbury very popular with Kitesurfers and Windsurfers, at high tide you can get the sea tractor across to Burgh Island (or walk across the sandy beach at low tide). These fabulous cottages make the perfect, quiet retreat for exploring the South Hams, all year round.
